Things to do in Lovina

Lovina is a small village located on the north coast of Bali. The north coast is less touristic and here you still can find the authentic Bali with lots of ricefields, waterfalls and amazing views. Most people skip the north but there are many beautiful sights and things to do.

Spotting dolphins

If you rent a villa at Bali Bungalow Rent you can be picked up at your beach villa by a boat in the early morning (around 06:00) or a little later (around (9:00). The boats are Indonesian fishing boats and to sail with these is an experience in itself. But if you meet the dolphins and also experiences the sunrise, this makes it a wonderful experience for young and old.

Hike through the Mayong rice fields

This walk of about 4 kilometers is highly recommended if you are staying in Lovina. The walk takes you to the most beautiful stretches of forest with all kinds of fruit trees and beautiful rice fields. The guide will tell you beautiful stories about all kinds of fruits and vegetation that you encouter during the walk. This nice and beautiful trip ends with a lunch/dinner and with a beautiful view you can enjoy delicious homemade Indonesian dishes.

Spend the day at a Balinese spa

It is possible to have masseuses come to the villas of Bali Bungalow Rent. But it is also wonderful to go to a spa and to be pampered. The Balinese massages are always recommended, but every spa also has different spa packages, also called special treatments. Each spa has its own menu with prices, packages and treatments. We prefer the spa of The Lovina or a wonderful massage at Agung’s Massage & Salon.

Local pasar (market) in Singaraja

If you want to be among the locals, it’s nice to visit the local market in Singaraja in the morning. Here you will find a real Indonesian “pasar” where you can discover different kinds of local fruits and vegetables. Also the “ayam” chickens are exposed and in addition to the above, there is also delicious fresh fish. An extraordinary experience once in scents and colors!

Snorkeling at Menjangan

Menjangan is a protected nature reserve with an amazing snorkelin opportunity. It is a short drive from Lovina to the boarding point for Menjangan, but it is definitely worth it. The snorkeling is so special there because you float over a kind of cliff. It suddenly goes down steeply there. and you will come across beautiful (large and small) fish. Tip: If you own a snorkel mask, we definitely recommend to take it with you!
